Friends' Annual General Meeting 

Tuesday 10th November

You are invited to the Friends' Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 10th November 2009.  The meeting will be held in Room A19 at 7pm. 

Please come along to find out what has been happening over the last year, to share your ideas for the future and elect the committee for next year.

THE FRIENDS OF

THE BISHOP OF LLANDAFF HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

The Friends are a group of parents, past pupils and teachers whose main aim is to raise funds for the school and its pupils, but we also aim to do it in a sociable and entertaining way. We would love you to be a part of it. 

We are a registered Charity - Charity Number Commission No. 532357 

Money is raised in a number of ways:

• Parents or Friends can “Gift-Aid” donation(s) either with one-off payment(s) or by standing order mandate (form can be downloaded below, or is available from the Friends).  Please return forms to the School Office
• Events to raise money – such as Prize Draws, Murder Mystery Evenings, Quiz Nights, raffles etc
• Support by selling refreshments at school events such as open evenings, concerts, etc
• Other donations, such as raffle prizes, money and other gifts
• Christmas Grand prize draw
• A HUGE HELP is also volunteering TIME to assist with these events!

We are always looking for others ways of raising funds – please feel free to discuss this with any of the Friends. Alternatively you can just drop us a note via the school office or even email us at thefriends@bishopofllandaff.org

Funds:  Over the past five years or so, the Association has raised well over £50,000!  Our pupils have been able to take advantage of the following additional services that the school have been able to provide with our assistance:

• Two old minibuses replaced with new ones
• Curtains fitted to the hall
• Stage lighting for the school hall
• Sound system for the school hall
• Donations for equipment supplied to each of the departments within the school
• Visual display panel for reception area
• New enclosed trailer for the minibus
• Annual donations to the school to provide awards for prize giving
• New cushioned stage safety flooring
• New computers for school

We hope that you can consider helping in any way you can - all of your help however small, benefits YOUR children, as the money raised helps the school to teach more effectively with the additional resources that we can provide.
