Art Trip to the Tate Modern As part of the AS and A2 courses, Years 12 and 13 made a trip to the Tate Modern in London. There pupils had the opportunity to see many works by modern artists. Pupils were sent off into the galleries armed with sketchbooks and maps, the quest being to discover five works of inspiration and relevance to the development of their own project ideas. Among pupils’ favourites was ‘ thirty pieces of silver’ Cornelia Parker but the highlight of the day was experiencing the interior of the giant ‘ black box’ created by the polish artist Marislow Backla. The day was greatly enjoyed by all. |
